Job Title: Fisheries Biologist II
Department: Environmental Stewardship Department
Reports to: Environmental Stewardship Department Director
Organize and implement fisheries projects that will directly benefit the environment and foster CVTC’s
traditional food sources. The primary objectives of this position are to: conduct culturally-centered fish
research and/or restoration projects including managing project logistics, data collection, data
management and research reports as well as conduct baseline water quality data collection. This
position is full-time with benefits.
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
Over 3 years of relevant experience implementing fish research project is preferred. Master’s degree is
preferred as the writing and data analysis skills required of the position are of an advanced college level.
(College courses preferred include Biology, Fish Behavior, Fish Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry,
Hydrology, GIS and other environmental sciences.) College degrees could possibly be substituted with
four additional years of progressive and job-related experience.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED
A valid State of Alaska Driver’s License is required. The Fisheries Biologist II must be insurable under
CVTC’s auto insurance policy.
